We decided to set up this organisation due to the number of animals that are strays, dumped, tied up, beaten and left to die. There is always a bigger picture and, as you may have seen in the media, many animals are sentenced to death as no one wants them; we want to make a change, even if its only little.

Due to the huge numbers of healthy, friendly young animals currently being put to sleep, Poorly Paws are an anti-breeding charity. We will remove any posts advertising animals for sale that have been purposely bred for financial gain and will not be able to help anyone who is involved in breeding. Sorry, but we are a welfare organisation and our "friends" are those that are helping us battle against indiscriminate breeding.

We are based in Chadwell Heath, Essex, and have foster carers all around this area. We also work very closely with many other animal organisations, so if we don’t have what you’re looking for we will always find someone somewhere that does within our community.
Poorly Paws is a non-profit organisation set up in late 2009 by Deana Goom. Our aim is to foster and home cats that are either stray or have become homeless. Many of the animals we take would otherwise have been put to sleep.

We do not believe in euthanasia of an animal, young or old, who would resettle in a new home, whatever their age or medical history. We believe that they all deserve a second chance.

We are committed to doing everything we can to try to help any animals in need of a loving home.

Our re-homing policy is simple: we vaccinate, microchip and neuter all animals prior to re-homing and in return we ask for a minimum donation of £80.00 per cat. All we ask in return is that you take good care of them, feed them and love them, insure them and carry out the duties of good animal ownership.

If for any reason at any point your circumstances change or the animal is unsettled we have an open return policy. At any time we will take the animal back into our re-homing programme.
